QTMS in Norway – pilot project in collaboration with Bane NOR on the Ofoten Line

QTMS is now being used in Norway in a pilot project with Bane NOR on the Ofotbanen line, a route of great importance for both passenger and freight traffic.

QTMS from Tyréns is a service that covers the entire chain – from measurement with sensors, lasers, and accelerometers to data collection, analysis, and automated delivery of information, insights, and trends.

We measure track position parameters defined according to SS EN 13848, enabling standardised and comparable analysis. Trend and rate of change are calculated at each position along the railway to detect long-term deterioration.

Automated notifications and insights include:Bildspel 300x200 7

  • Positions with current exceedances of limit values.

  • Positions where future exceedances are expected based on trends.

  • Positions with abnormally strong fluctuations linked to plant objects or ‘unknown’ influences.

Measurements are taken frequently using trains in regular service and complemented by measurement cars and other methods. By covering the period between periodic inspections, better conditions are created for predictive maintenance and continuous insight into the condition of the tracks, without taking up time on the tracks.

We look forward to working with Bane NOR.
